Arts Council

Records of this body for the period 1952-74 have been deposited, and most are available for public inspection (see List).

Dairy Disposal Company

This body was responsible for the acquisition, management and disposal of creameries and dairy produce factories between 1927-79. Deposited records include minutes, correspondence, files, accounts and plans, and permission is generally required for access (draft list available on request).

Poor Law Union Records

These records are mainly Minutes of the Board of Guardians and Registers of Workhouse Admissions and Discharges. The National Archives holds the following records:

North Dublin Union, 1840-1920.

South Dublin Union, 1840-1938.

Rathdown Union and successor bodies (South County Dublin and North County Wicklow), 1839-1955.

Balrothery Union (North County Dublin).

Bawnboy Union (County Cavan).

Hospital Records

Deposited records include the following:

Mercer's Hospital 1750-1945.

Rotunda Hospital 1797-.

Port and Harbour Records

Deposited records are those of the Dublin Port and Docks board 1788-1945 and the Waterford Harbour Commissioners (see Lists of Records).

Corporation and Council Records

The National Archives holds records of Belturbet Corporation, County Fermanagh, for the period 1660-1840, including minutes, a court book and a miscellaneous volume. Records of Dublin Corporation, including some municipal court records, were held in the Public Record Office of Ireland until their return to the newly formed Archives Division in 1979. Similarly, records of Dublin County Council, including some Grand Jury Minutes and Presentments, were returned to that body in 1988-89.
