We still "stand at the door knocking", waiting for somebody to open and invite the Lord in for the Station Mass for the area. It is now so simple and it will bring many blessings. The area now stands alone.

Care of the Elderly
We had the AGM of the parish body during the week. We discussed how much more could be done to be sensitively there for one another at a time in life when we become more in need of one another. Some live alone, having lost a loved one; health tends to need more care, we have more time on our hands and in general are more vulnerable. The elderly can do much for one another when they come together, we can be family for one another. At the meeting we discussed what more could be done. Some spoke of coming together for Bingo, Socials, Card Playing etc. We spoke of the need to bring attention to the services available in nearby towns etc. So much more could be done if more people got involved. The elderly themselves could contribute much, - in unity is strength - and parishioners of all ages could show practical concern and help. If you would like to get involved why not phone Fr. O'Driscoll or Fr. O'Sullivan, or contact any member of the present committee. We plan to have a Christmas Dinner if there is sufficient interest. More of that later.

From the Pastor's Desk

A Reflective Prayer
" Lord how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me? As often as seven times? Jesus answered, Not seven, I tell you, but seventy-seven times."

Dear Lord in the course of my life, the question Peter asked you is a question that is fore-most in my thoughts, as I come to ask forgiveness for the people who have hurt me in my journey of service for you. It is not easy at times to forgive because of human nature, like the harsh servant in the gospel but with your help Lord I pray that I may become a good, forgiving and loving servant of yours with a heart that beats with love, compassion and understanding for your people. With a heart like yours, that even as you died upon the cross for me you forgave the repentant thief. When my life comes to an end may I hear what he heard on that First Good Friday.
This day you will be with me in Paradise.

The One-Sentence Sermon:
Give God what is right, not what is left.

Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church

Think About It
Don't let your parents down,
they brought you up.
Be humble enough to obey,
You may give orders some day.
Chose your companions with care,
You become what they are.
Guard your thoughts, what you think
Is what you are.
Be master of your habits
or they will master you.
Pay attention when you drive,
Drive safely and arrive.
Resist pressure, stand up,
Or you'll fall for anything.
Keep God in your life,
He is always there for you.

Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, send workers into your harvest. May the Spirit we received in Baptism touch the hearts of many to offer themselves in priesthood, religious life, and other forms of service. Give the parents and families of our parish, the wisdom and courage to support young people, in searching for and following the call of God in their lives
