Beast Puller!!! Pink wall pink face(s)!!!
The fourth round of the 2000/2001 Irish 4x4 Off Road Championship was held on Tony Dwyer's land
in Rockgrove, Coachford and sponsored by Damien O'Donovan of O'Donovan Engineering, Coachford.
Clerk of the course Vincent Dorney and his team of marshals set out a challenging course and as
is usual at Rockgrove it pissed rain.
Jonathon Henegan drove another inspired event by coming first overall with a score of 14 points.
Good One Bro`!!!
Joseph Shinnors rolled Mick O' Shea's new Suzuki (pram) on test 6 much to the dismay of Mick who
was sitting in the passenger seat but Mick still managed to finish first in class 1
Gerry Byrne destroyed the seat of the very large Toyota Landcruiser belonging to John Ryan on
test 5.
Paul McCarthy has shown dominance in class 5 yet again this season, much to the dismay to the
drivers of the Beast.
This event was Orla and Steve Mahon's last as they are going to Australia for a year.
Orla outdrove Steve again by coming second in class 2. We would like to wish them both the best
of luck and a safe journey. We hope to see them back safe and sound next year in their
Mitsubishi.
We would like to thank those who set out the course on a very wet and windy Saturday, Mick
O' Shea, Paul, Robin Lyons, Ken Lyons, Vincent Dorney and Stephen Geary.
Sorry (again) Steve!!!
As a token of their appreciation the competitors presented Shane with a silver plate and a
voucher for Jury's hotel.
The presentation was held in the Village Inn in Coachford. Where soup and sandwiches were
provided for all. Damien O' Donovan of O' Donovan Engineering presented the prizes.
Results: fill them in yourself Shane.
