   The annual Jesuit Film and Video Awards were presented last week to young Irish film-makers who make short films on themes of social justice.  This week we have an interview with this year's overall winner, who made a film about male violence.  We also have an interview with Patricia Mitchel and Michael Healy from Charismatic Renewal, who are hosting a conference in the RDS, Dublin on 11th November.  The next tape will include an interview with the miracle priest Fr Rick Tomas, SJ who will speak at the conference.

Side One:

1. Crossways:   News in the Church and the World. For our main report this week Graham Dowling, n.S.J. spoke to Una O'Doherty of BASIC in Galway about the ordination of women.   The news was read by Elaine Comerford and Liam Greene, SJ.

2. The Ogoni People - Nigeria:  The Ogoni people are fishermen and farmers in South East Nigeria.  For the last 30 years their lives have been disrupted by the drilling of oil by Shell International.  Ken Wiwa tells Ann Kennedy about the people and their way of life.

3. Child Sexual Abuse - Bishop Laurence Forristal:  Much attention has been focussed recently on the way the Catholic Church deals with the problem of child sexual abuse.  At their recent meeting in Maynooth, the Bishops devoted most of their time to discussing the Church's guidelines on the problem, which are due out before the end of the year.  Bishop Laurence Forristal of Ossary if Chairman of the Committee on Child Sexual Abuse.  Martin Browne asked him if the attention the Bishops are giving to sexual abuse indicated that there was a crisis in the Church.

4.  The Month of the Holy Souls:  Fr Lwo Morahan is an experienced broadcaster, who is well known for his interest in Irish culture, language, games and traditions.  Marie Stuart, RSM asked him why we have a special month for the Holy Souls.

5. Christmas Advertising:    Christmas advertising has already started.  How does it affect us?  Are we powerless to resist?  Paddy O'Meara addresses some of the key issues with Marie Stuart.  Paddy is a lay man, and a member of the Redemptorist retreat team based in Limerick.  He had an article on advertising published in last April's Reality.

6. Darina Allen's Cookery Course:  "Guess who's cooking in the kitchen?"  No, it's not Darina, but one of her protegés, Fr Tom Walsh, who recently participated in a cookery course for priests run by Darina Allen.  He shares his culnary experiences now with Kathleen Dooris.

1. Jesuit Film Awards:  The overall winning film of the 1995 Jesuit Film and Video Awards was Voyageur.  The film dealt with one man's struggle to come to terms with his violent emotions.  Martin Browne spoke to Darren Tiernan, director of the film, and Pat Synott, a social worker who co-founded MOVE (Men Overcoming Violent Emotions).  MOVE operates workshops around the country, helping men to overcome their violent tendencies.  The organisation can be contacted at the Carmichael Centre, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7. 2. Ballintubber Reflection - The Penal Cross:   Frank explains the symbols on the cross and their significance.

3. Reflection from 'Elizabethan House':  Frank tells a story of the Holy Family visiting in the guise of travellers.

4. Catholic Charismatic Renewal:  What does it mean to be involved in Charismatic Renewal?  What type of people are attracted to it?  Why more women than men?  How are the Clergy involved?  Patricia Mitchel tells us how becoming involved in Charismatic Renewal changed her relationships with other people for the better, even though initially she found it difficult to persuade her family that it wasn't a cult.  Michael Healy defends the name "Charismatic Renewal".

5. 5th Commandment:  Fr Donal Harrington suggests that this commandment requires more of us than avoiding killing anybody.  Fr Harrington is a lecturer in Clonliffe College and Mater Dei.

In Hannon:  "5th, Thou shalt not kill.............................presence throughout one's life." Time:  4.43

6. 6th Commandment:  Ailin Doyle talks about the Church view on adultery, and emphasises its' much broader approach to marraige today.
