This week we have a celebrity packed tape: Maeve Binchy talks about clerical paranoia; Joe O'Connor relates his experiences in Nicaragua; Eileen Reid tells us how she found God; and Cardinal Cathal Daly talks to us about the divorce referendum.

1. Crossways:   News in the Church and the World. For our main report this week Liam Greene, SJ spoke to Patricia Coyle, who was a panelist on the recent Late Late Show given over to a discussion on the Catholic Church.  The news was read by Elaine Comerford and Liam Greene, SJ.

2. Divorce - Cardinal Daly:   In the run-up to the divorce referendum, the Irish Catholic Episcopal Conference recently issued a statement.  The Bishops were very critical of the proposals put before the people, and urged a No vote.  The statement was presented at a news conference by Cardinal Cathal Daly, the President of the Episcopal Conference.  Afterwards, he spoke to Martin Browne.

In  Browne:  "The Bishop's statement...........and unanimously issued.."   Time: 7.58

3. Journalistic Feeding Frenzy - Andy Pollack:  Are Irish journalists being influenced by the British tabloids?  Have they gone a bit too far in their treatment of haapenings within the Catholic Church?  Will the Church survive the present on-going crisis?  Religious correspondent for the Irish Times, Andy Pollack gives his views to Kathleen Dooris, RSM.

4.  Clerical Paranoia - Maeve Binchy:  Irish clergy have become quite paranoid in recent times, according to author Maeve Binchy.  "But could you blame them?", asks Kathleen Dooris.

In   Binchy:   "I was on a train............................people distrustful of our clergy."   Time:  6.57

5. Fear of Sleeping - Paul Andrews:    Many people toss and turn restlessly at night.  Child psychologist Fr Paul Andrews, SJ talks to Antoinette Harbourne about ways of ensuring children have a peaceful, secure night's sleep.

1. Eileen Reid - Finding God:  Eileen Reid was the darling of the sixties showband scene, and today she stars regularly in cabaret and pantomime.  In her book Eileen, she writes very frankly about how God came into her life in recent years, and the difference that has made.  She spoke to Alan McGuckian, SJ about it.

In  Reid:  "Well, I suppose.............................................leaves people thinking."  Time:  5.56

2. Sexual Harassment:   It's one of the "in" words at present.  But does it really exist, and what is it anyway?  Adrian Twomey, co-author of the book Sexual Harassment in the Workplace talks to Kathleen Dooris.

In Twomey:  "Sexual harassment........................................bills, or legal costs."  Time:  5.38

3. Nicaragua - Joe O'Connor:  In 1985, Joe O'Connor (author and columnist with the Sunday Tribune) went to Nicaragua as a reporter for Magill magazine.  He spent his time there travelling around and talking to people, and he witnessed the country beginning to fall apart.  With One World Week in mind (November 17 - 24), he spoke to Hilda Carroll about his experiences there, and the importance of solidarity groups.  Hilda first asked him what kind of things he saw in Nicaragua.

In  O'Connor: "Well, for instance......................Joe O'Connor, thanks very much."  Time:  6.14

4. 7th Commandment:  Stealing is not just taking something that belongs to someone else.  The goods of this world belong to everybody.  When some of us have too much and some people do not have enough we are living contrary to the seventh commandment.  This week Fr Donal Harrington, lecturer in Clonliffe College and Mater Dei, talks to Marie Stuart RSM about this commandment.

5. 8th Commandment:  Bearin false witness is much broader than lying.  If we are to live by the eighth commandment we need to be sensitive to others in all our dealings with them.  Ailin Doyle is a lecturer in Moral Theology in Milltown Institute in Dublin.  Here she talks to Marie Stuart RSM about living the eighth commandment.
