4.    What is the Orange Order ?  Parades by members of the loyal institutions in Northern Ireland inevitably make headlines at this time of the year. But people  in the Republic, and Roman Catholics in particular seem to know very little about what the Orange Order and organisations like it actually stand for. The Revd Brian Kennaway is Minister of Crumlin Presbyterian Church in County Antrim and is Convenor of the Education Committee of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland. He spoke to Martin Browne.

This interview was conducted a week before any decision had been made on the Drumcree Church Parade. The Orange Order's official information leaflet is enclosed.

5.    Movie Ethics - David Puttnam: Over 100 years on from the making of the first film, Hollywood has managed to dominate the global film industry with shrewd marketing and strong political support. The American dominance of the world film industry raises many important questions, such as whether culture or commerce is the primary factor in the making of films, and what effect does the mass consumption of American Culture have on local cultures worldwide. Award winning director David Puttnam recently launched a book entitled The Undeclared War examining the rise to prominence of Hollywood and the cultural implications. Andrew Lawless spoke to him about the role of films in our culture.
