BIOGRAPHY: This informal CV serves to introduce Celia Moss, now working as a self-employed consultant in the business/IT interface, following periods in IT management, strategic consulting and technical sales; with a strong international bias.

BIOGRAPHY: Career summary

BIOGRAPHY: After a BSc in Physics in 1965, export sales and application development of capital research equipment based on scanning electron-probe technology with Cambridge Scientific Instruments Ltd.  This company pioneered the technology and at that time led the world market in such systems, used by industrial and academic R&D professionals in disciplines ranging from medicine to metallurgy.  The company's export sales quotient was 80%.

BIOGRAPHY: Following an MBA from INSEAD in 1972, strategic consulting with McKinsey & Company Inc, based in the Düsseldorf and London offices.  As Senior Engagement Manager, specialised in multi-country strategy and operations work for American, British and Japanese multinational clients.  Sectors included telecommunications services, cellular mobile radio, high-voltage switchgear, medical electronics, computerized photo-typesetting, commercial aircraft and professional services.  A common feature was the management of unusually large teams comprising both McKinsey and client members of many nationalities (including Japanese), dispersed in several countries.

BIOGRAPHY: Before leaving McKinsey spent 3 years introducing cost-effective personal computing to the London and subsequently other European offices, finishing by working with the New York corporate headquarters on strategic planning for the Firm's global systems and wide-area communications standards.

BIOGRAPHY: Joined the London office of Russell Reynolds Associates Inc (RRA) in 1986, final position World-wide Technology Director.  Initiated and managed the computerisation of the 12 International (European and Asia/Pacific) offices' secretarial and accounting systems.  Subsequently developed a multinational specification, and managed the development and networked implementation of the core front-office business system used 9to5 by all partners and employees in the International offices, integrating all historic data from a great variety of formats.  Then implemented international email and used the transport agent to integrate the business and accounting systems internationally, thereby reducing accounting overheads by 50% world-wide.  Developed standards, procedures and personnel for a 35-strong worldwide support network using existing staff; a team that still delivers high service levels (97% up-time).  Subsequently took the lead in integrating the 10 US offices with the rest of the Firm, first by writing an email gateway and later through a WAN supporting a replicated international database.

BIOGRAPHY: From 1996, self-employed, working with a multi-skilled group supporting the implementation of Customer Relationship Management, mostly for retail banking clients.  Personal achievements include the design and implementation of a multi-system MIS application in Turkey and a prototype call-centre application in the UK.

BIOGRAPHY: Strong international background: born in the USA with periods as a child in Hong Kong & Singapore and brief stays in other South East Asian countries.  Business experience in most Western European countries, USA, Canada, Poland, Czechoslovakia, the Gulf States, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
