Ballinora Hurling & Football Club, Waterfall, Co. Cork, Ireland March 4th - Ballinora V BallinhassigBallinora U 12’s played their third challenge match of the year in Ballymah on Sunday last. Ballinhassig provided the opposition this week. Despite an extremely bad forecast the game was played without any rain. Underfoot conditions were poor but both teams made the best of the conditions, to provide a sporting match that was well attended by parents from both sides. The inclusion of a number of the older team members strengthened the team considerably, notably Colin Lougheed who finished the game with 1-3 and grafted hard at midfield throughout. He was ably assisted at midfield by Charlie Grear. Luke o Connor was solid in goal for Ballinora while his full back Eolan Treacy managed to confine the Ballinhassig full forward Patrick Butler to one goal. Patrick’s brother Con also worked hard at corner forward keeping the Ballinora corner back Colm McCarthy busy. The game finished Ballinora 5-3 Ballinhassig 1-3.
