FULLAM FAMILY TRIP

Both in Nov .1999 and on 18th sept. 2000, members of the Fullam family visited their relations’ gravesites in Flanders and the Somme. Margaret Desmond nee Fullam our P.R.O. was on a previous visit. Philip, Tom & Olive Fullam went on the Nov 1999 tour. Their granduncle Lance –Corporal John Ball is buried in Sanctuary Wood cemetery, where wreaths were laid on the visits.

 White House cemetery is where Sgt. Philip Ball is buried, he is their grandfather, which was also visited and prayers recited and wreaths laid. A cousin of Sgt. Ball is in the German cemetery at Annoeullin in the Province of Nord in northern France between Len and Lille. Philip visited this grave of Capt. Albert Ball RFC. V.C. DSO. MC. Russian Order of St. George, Legion d’Honneur, first triple DSO. in the army.

On the 14th Nov. 1999 at a special mass in the Cathedral in Poperinge Philip read out from the altar the names of the soldiers from Bandon who died in W.W.1. (Click here for printable version)
