PRESS RELEASE

20 February 2001

Following A String Of Auspicious Collaborations In 2000,
Culminating With The Sell-Out 'Winterparty' At Mosney:

POD & INFLUX ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE
'SPRINGPARTY' AT THE POINT, DUBLIN ON 7TH APRIL 2001.

When you consider the success of last year's genre-busting Winterparty at Mosney, Co. Meath, at which co-promoters POD and Influx brought the capacity crowd the very best Progressive House has to offer, it should come as no surprise to learn that the next party will again offer the cream of the crop for a selected music genre.

Sasha and John Digweed, the undisputed true kings of Progressive House (who both flew in directly from the legendary Twilo nightclub in New York) headlined at Winterparty they couldn't make Homelands but Winterparty more than made up for it!

For Springparty, promoters POD and Influx are delighted to present the very best in techno with the current leaders of the pack.  Headlining this top notch event are three of the world's biggest DJ stars; Laurent Garnier (live), Carl Cox and Dave Clarke, in a veritable clash of the titans. Joining these legends on the night are A Guy Called Gerald, Johnny Moy, DJ Wool (aka Glen Brady) & DJC1.

Selected as one of the 'Best DJs in the World' in '93 and '94 by Mixmag and other predominant European dance magazines, Laurent Garnier has retained that status throughout his career. A massive discography to his credit and a legion of fans across the globe, Garnier's January 1997 release of 'Crispy Bacon' was described by almost every Dance Magazine as one of the best techno tunes ever, and ŒThe Man with the Red Face¹, taken from his recent Unreasonable Behavior¹ album, rocks every club and every party around the world.  His imminent arrival to Dublin will excite many, many people, particularly as the legend will be performing live as opposed to DJing at The Point. As if that wasn't enough, fans are getting really spoilt as on the same bill is the 'Three Decks Wizard', the multi faceted and massively talented, Carl Cox (who, incidently, will be flying directly on from The Point to the Timewarp techno festival in Manheim).

Awarded the title due to his unique mixing style of running three different records together in perfect syncopation, since those halcyon days, non-stop Cox has progressed to being awarded a new title by the media, by the promoters and by the adoring dance fans from all around the world as 'The World's Greatest DJ', an accolade disputed by none.

Joining these two DJ heavyweights on the bill is the First DJ of Techno; Dave Clarke. His name is synonymous the world over with three records   'Red 1', 'Red 2' and 'Red 3' the kind of records most can only dream of making, but then Clarke did better than that by making a series.
