When Bill and Ann were looking for a Guest House, they
looked to a location in which they could offer their Guests a high standard of
accommodation; a clean, safe and secure place to stay at reasonable rates. When they
viewed the site at Willow Bridge they decided - there and then - that this was the ideal
location.
Not only was it on the outskirts of Monaghan town, with all of the facilities for the
modern traveller - banks, post offices, cinema, excellent variety of restaurants, two
large shopping malls - everyone was in agreement that this was the place.
At The Cross Roads of Ireland,
the location was perfect. At the time it was not recognised that an added bonus was that
The Lodge was located in what once was The Forest of The Silver Stream. This was where the
ancient Kings of Ireland rested as they criss-crossed Ireland to do Battle. We do not know
of a better place for the modern day traveller to break his journey while navigating
Ireland as The ancient Kings once had.
Should you decide to linger a little longer the Lodge is an ideal base, with a comfortable
drive to Belfast, Giants Causeway, the Antrim Coast, not forgetting all of our local
facilities including golf and fishing.
