Karl Ronan is Ireland's leading jazz trombonist. He studied at the R.I.A.M., and has been a professional musician since the age of sixteen. As one of the most versatile trombonists in the country he is involved in a wide variety of musical projects. As well as his Jazz performing he freelances with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and has performed, toured and recorded extensively with them. He also currently performs with the Afro-Cuban group Saoco and the singer Mary Black. As a jazz musician he is a member of the Irish Jazz Orchestra and the Michael Buckley Quintet
