Lunch List Students who live locally are allowed to go home at lunchtime. Such students should bring in a note so that their names can be placed on our lunch list. Students are not allowed to leave the school grounds at break times and we do not allow students to go with friends who are on the lunch list.
School Rules I would like to thank all those parents who have returned acknowledgement forms stating that they have read and are aware of our school rules. I would be grateful if parents alsocould also sign the back of the student journal. Apart from the rule on mobile phones I would like to draw your attention to the rule on the wearing of jewellery. While it is impossible to cover everything in a school rule parents should be aware that students are not allowed to wear jewellery of any kind in P.E. class as jewellery of any kind can lead to injuries.
Special Thanks Darragh McCarthy of D.A.H.R.A. Services has kindly presented us with laboratory coats for our new Leaving Certificate Chemistry Course.
V.E.C./Parent Representatives This year, for the first time, parents will have a chance to elect representatives directly unto the V.E.C. A register of electors is being prepared and will be available for examination next week. All parents of students under 18 years of age on Sept. 6th will be eligible to vote. A more detailed circular in relation to this matter will issue in the next few days.

Circular Letter to the Parents/Guardians of all Students entered for the Junior Certificate Examination in 2005
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Department of Education and Science makes reasonable accommodation in the State exams for candidates with disabilities or special needs. If you feel that your son/daughter may require special arrangements in the 2005 exams please let me know before as soon as possible as applications forms have to be completed and lodged with the Department shortly. Please note that this scheme is not a general scheme for weak students; it is confined to students with specific difficulties either of a temporary or of a long-term nature. The Department recognises the following four categories of difficulties:-
1. Physical Difficulty, for example, a student trying to do practical exams while on crutches, 2. Visual Difficulty, for example, a student having difficulty reading the size of print on the exam papers due to a visual impairment, 3. Hearing Difficulty, for example, deafness affecting performance in aural exams due to inability to hear the audio tape properly, 4. Specific Learning Difficulty, for example, inability to understand the content of exam papers due to dyslexia. If you feel your daughter/son may require reasonable accommodation in the exam next June please contact me as soon as possible. An application will be made to the Department and each case will be considered on its own merits.
If you have any queries about any of these points please do not hesitate to contact me at (053) 35257 extension 24.
