The Parents Council has nominated two parents to staid for election and I would ask that you come out to vote. Your support can be of great benefit to our school. The parents who have been nominated are the secretary of your association, Catherine O'Donnell, and the chairman, Jim Moore. The polling booth will be located at the front of the school and polling cards will be sent by post to all parents who are eligible to vote. Liz Gleeson who is the outgoing V.E.C. member is also standing for election.

Circular Letter to the Parents/Guardians of all Students entered for the Junior Certificate Examination in 2005
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Department of Education and Science makes reasonable accommodation in the State exams for candidates with disabilities or special needs. If you feel that your son/daughter may require special arrangements in the 2005 exams please let me know before as soon as possible as applications forms have to be completed and lodged with the Department shortly. Please note that this scheme is not a general scheme for weak students; it is confined to students with specific difficulties either of a temporary or of a long-term nature. The Department recognises the following four categories of difficulties:-
1. Physical Difficulty, for example, a student trying to do practical exams while on crutches, 2. Visual Difficulty, for example, a student having difficulty reading the size of print on the exam papers due to a visual impairment, 3. Hearing Difficulty, for example, deafness affecting performance in aural exams due to inability to hear the audio tape properly, 4. Specific Learning Difficulty, for example, inability to understand the content of exam papers due to dyslexia. If you feel your daughter/son may require reasonable accommodation in the exam next June please contact me as soon as possible. An application will be made to the Department and each case will be considered on its own merits.
If you have any queries about any of these points please do not hesitate to contact me at (053) 35257 extension 24.
