Old laws used in new land grab

History repeats itself

"Those that forget history are destined to repeat it."  This oft repeated phrase of philosopher George Santanya very much applies today in Ireland.   Old laws are being used to force landowners to sell.  Laws dating back to the time of occupation.  Large vested interests, both Irish and foreign, are destined to reap huge rewards, having benefited by the draconian implementation of these laws.  Massive new developments of tolled motorways are about to be sited on priceless land, land that is being acquired mostly at agricultural prices from people who do not wish to sell.
