Its about time someone tried to
stand up to the motorway madness.
It is crazy that a body with the powers of the NRA can be set up without
having to report to a higher national body dealing with other forms of
infrastructure ( Rail, electricity, telecommunications, ports, etc.),
and have no remit for road safety.
The NRA are the result of intensive successful lobbying by the
motoring/roadbuilding industries (AA, SIMI, Road Hauliers, Construction
Industry Federation, Insurance and Financial sectors). The current
National Development Plan originates with the same lobbyists. They
are
intent on furthering their own interests, without any consideration for
destroying the countryside, polluting the atmosphere and killing over
400 innocents annually.
