National Transport Group Formed

The representatives from 60 different groups from across the country interested in sustainable transport gathered in the Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix on Thursday July 5th. The national group, Campaign for Sensible Transport was formed.

Campaign for Sensible Transport calls on all interested parties to withdraw co-operation from the NRA’s road consultation process.  The withdrawal will be in effect until such time that all relevant information is made public in a cost effective and accessible format and that adequate time is provided for its analysis.

The group calls on the Taoiseach to suspend all road projects until the European Commission is satisfied that the process is being carried out in accordance with the spirit of European law.
