The Lee Valley Protection Campaign have opened an office at Dripsey Cross. The groups submission to the NRA,
objecting to a four-lane highway through the Lee Valley, can be inspected during opening hours. Information on how
the campaign is progressing will be updated regularly.
As the office will be staffed by volunteers from the Lee Valley Protection Campaign, visitors should telephone ahead for
opening hours at (021) 733 4991.
Opening an office in the heart of the Lee Valley is evidence of the Lee Valley group's
commitment to preserving the social, agricultural, environmental and
archaeological integrity of the Lee Valley, one of Cork's few remaining natural
amenity areas.
September and October will be busy months for fundraising events. On September 7th, starting at 9pm, there will be a
Table Quiz at the Lee Valley Golf Club, £20 for a team of four and a chance to win cash and other prizes.
On September 14th is the launch by Jimmy Crowley of the campaign's CD " NO LEE WAY", written by Professor John
Maguire, also at the Valley Golf Club
In October there will be a one-day traditional music festival throughout the Lee Valley, finishing with a concert in the Hall
in Coachford. Further information on these events will be available from the Campaign Office.
