Castleconnell

Castleconnell Village.

Castleconnell in County Limerick, Ireland is situated about nine miles NE of Limerick City.  It possesses a spa which was once considerably frequented, but is now more famous as a centre for salmon fishing on the lower Shannon. Castleconnell is so intimately connected with this sport that it has given its name to a favourite pattern of fly-rod.  Castleconnell has the remains of a castle from which the town took its name, which was once the seat of the Kings of Thomond.  The beautiful rapids of Doonas are in the neighbourhood, and the surrounding scenery is very picturesque.

Village Hall

The hall in the village of Castleconnell was recently refurbished.  The hall is situated on the main street beside the church.  It is used by a variety of different groups in the parish.  These include sports clubs, youth groups, drama groups and parent groups.

The school uses the hall for School Concerts, Christmas parties and for special events such as Communion and Confirmation.
