Down  through the years since the foundation of our club, successive committees tried without success to find a suitable site for a permanent home for Castlemitchell G.F.C. In early 1995 a sub-committee was appointed and called The Development Committee.  It's task was to find and purchase such a site.  After inspecting many sites and negotiating with several local land owners, a contract for the purchase of our field was signed on 17th February 1997.

When planning permission was granted for the development, work on preparing the site commenced in the Summer of 1998, with grass seeds planted in October of that year. The foundation for the clubhouse was started in August 1999.

The total cost of development will be approx.£250,000 of which we have already spent £190,000.  This money, apart from collections, loans and grants (Leinster Council and Croke Park), has been raised by our weekly club lotto. To date the Lotto has provided £115,000 towards our costs and is a vital factor in financing our club development.

To the people who support our lotto I would like to thank you sincerely and look forward to your support in the future. We now have our own facilities of which we can be proud of and also proud of the fact that we played our part in the development and history of Castlemitchell G.F.C. on this historic occasion.
