Found Great Tits can be found anywhere with trees, gardens, parks and woodlands. They are very common in gardens.
Nest: Their nest is built in a hole, either in a tree or in a crevice in a wall. The great tit will build in a nesting box if the hole is big enough. The female builds a cup like nest from moss and grass and she lines it with feathers or hair. She lays 5-12 white eggs with reddish spots. She may have two broods but this is not common.
Feeding The Great Tit like the Blue Tit is a dominant bird at the feeder and bosses the other birds. In winter they like to eat the seeds and fruit. They are not as acrobatic as the blue tit and therefore eat the food that falls to the ground from the bird feeder. Hazelnuts are their favourite type of nut. In the summer they feed on insects such as snails and spiders. They feed their young on caterpillars, spiders and small insects.
