The Greenfinch

The greenfinch had to build a nest,

She thought I'm going to do my best,

She gathered up some twigs and hay,

T'was early in the month of May,

Two days later it was done,

Now she lazes in the sun.

The Chaffinch

The chaffinch he looked really cool,

Until he fell into the pool,

I picked him up and dried him down,

And rubbed his little feathered crown,

He smiled at me as if to say,

I'll come back another day.

The Great Tit

There was a great tit on the wall,

He was having quite a ball,

He danced, he sang, he jumped and hopped,

And suddenly he stopped.

I looked around to say ''What is the matter?

Then I saw a grey cat had caused him to scatter.

Birds

Birds build nests

To lay eggs and have a rest,

Birds fly around

And eat food from the ground.

The Mistle Thrush

I saw a Mistle thrush,

Says I "he's in a rush",

Then a lady appeared with a brush

And I knew why he was in such a rush.

A Wren

I thought I saw a wren,

It lived in Denn,

but then found out it was a hen,

After all I'm only ten.

The Great Tit

The great tit flew up into the sky,

As I was eating apple pie,

I looked at him and him at me,

Then he landed on my knee,

Then I said ''a piece for you,''

As I cut my pie in two.

The Robin

My little robin redbreast,

Sitting on the branch.

My cat is going to prance

So you better do a dance.

The Blackbird

There was a blackbird on the birdtable,

He tried to eat but wasn't able,

I threw a crust for him to eat,

He chirped back at me for that wee threat.

The Robin

Robin Redbreast on the gate

Over he hops to be my mate

Bobbing up and down

I threw him scraps on the ground.

Blackbird

Blackbird, blackbird on the tree.

Come to me and you will be free

I will feed you some seeds.

Birds

I love the robin and the thrushes,

I feed them everyday

Willy Wagtails, rooks and magpies,

Come to our garden to play.

The Thrush

Oh thrush, little thrush

How sweetly you sing

You perch on your bush

Without having to care about a thing.
