On it we gave links to our school website, Ennis Information Age Town Website and The Clare Hurlers Site. Our sixth class were creating Power Point Presentations on County Clare to uploead to our website.

Greetings from Ennis CBS, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland

Our school is in Ennis, Co. Clare on the West Coast of Ireland. The Christian Brothers founded the School in 1827. There are 551 students in the school, 336 boys and 215 girls. It is a two-storey building, 12 metres long and 24 metres wide. It is 173 years old.

Our school has one Principal, Bráthar Liam de Róiste, 23 teachers, two secretaries, two caretakers, and Christy is our traffic warden.

Our school has its own playing pitch. We start school at 9:00 and finish at 2:55.

In our School we play hurling, football, camogie, basketball, table-tennis and chess. Our school has a sports day every year and our class goes to the swimming pool once a fortnight.

There were 8000 people living in the town when the school was first built and there are now 25,000.

We got more than 100 Emails in reply, mostly from the USA.

We opened Microsoft Excel and we located the State or Country on the Map. Try it yourself.

Click on the Globe on the Standard Toolbar and draw a rectangular Box. Choose a Map, North America and click OK. Click on the Map Label icon (the one like a label for a suitcase) and choose United States. Click OK. Rest the pointer on the map and it will name the states for you! Click and the name of the state will be printed.

Then we looked up the distance from the cities and towns to our town and wrote the information on the emails which we had printed.

Well Ennis was not in the database, so we used Shannon. We wrote down the distance and the population. It also told us the latitude and the longitude, whatever they are.
