Further Developments
In May '97 I finished working on the project. During the Summer it underwent several trials to determine whether it would be suitable for longer term use. In July I made a presentation at the Unidare Young Engineer of the Year Competition. Over the summer I made minor modifications to the software, these were mainly to implement items that the system was found to be lacking during the clinical trials.
In Jan. '98 a 4th ERASMUS student started to conduct additional trials of the system. During the month of May I tidied up some of the code and added in routines to do automatic calibration of the amplifier, the user is prompted to set the gain and then select this in a dialog window. This information is then used to decide on the threshold level. I also started to add in an FFT window but due to time constraints I stopped short of debugging it. Looking at the code it really needs to be re-written to take greater advantage of the OOness of Borland C++.
During June '98 I received email from a lecturer in UCG who was given the code. He wants to modify the code for projects running in UCG.

My Ideas
Though officially I'm finished with the project, I never felt it was completed. The game needs a major overhaul as well as making the recording software more stable. To bring the game into the nineties I was thinking of writing the program to include a 3D graphics engine or else tack the program onto a modified version of Doom. This would all be done under Linux, I've had to reboot the computer once too often under Windows. If anyone is actually interested in using the software, please drop me a line as it would help me speed up development.
