Background
Linux, or GNU/Linux to be correct, is a free operating system being developed worldwide by hundreds of programmers. The projects undertaken by these programmers (mostly in their spare time) vary from developing the kernel to writing a suite of applications to rival MSOffice and the like. It all began when a student, Linus Torvalds, began developing a free operating system as a hobby back in 1991. When he first published the code to the kernel, 10 people tried it out. Today there are over 7 million users worldwide. Linux is available on numerous platforms including Intel, DEC, PPC and Sun.

These Pages
On following pages I have listed some common problems I've encountered and the solutions I've found, the apps I use for various different tasks. It's not comprehensive but hopefully the information will prove useful. Feel free to send me any comments.
