Album: Yesterday and Today
InformationPaul woke up one morning with the tune to this song in his head. He got up and played it. It was considered that he had heard it elswhere and tried to find out if anybody knew of a song with that tune. When it appeared that nobody knew of it, he put lyrics to it and hoped that nobody would claim it. He had originally called it "scrambled eggs". The song features a string quartet and Paul is the only Beatles involved in it. It is one of the most played songs on American radio. It is also the song with the most cover versions released.
Alternative LyricsYesterday, all those backups seemed a waste of pay. Now my database has gone away. Oh I believe in yesterday. Suddenly, there's not half the files there used to be, And there's a milestone hanging over me The system crashed so suddenly. I pushed something wrong What it was I could not say. Now all my data's gone and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay. Yesterday, The need for back-ups seemed so far away. I knew my data was all here to stay, Now I believe in yesterday.
