New School Building Update

Inside this issue:

The construction of the new building is well under way and is quite an impressive sight.  The construction team are beavering away and at this stage may even finish ahead of original hopes.
The roofing has already begun and the plumbers are knee-deep in work.
If the weather holds up and no major infrastructural problems are encountered it will be possible that all personnel will be off the site by the end of July.
This would open the possibility of beginning the new school year in the new building - a fitting start to a new Millennium of education in Bray.
You may have read re

cently that the Minister for Eductation has decided to alter the funding rules for school premises in the future and reduce local contributions from 15% to 5% with a cap at £50,000.
We are currently talking to the Department to see if we can be included in the new scheme retrospectively. We have no definite answer yet but where there's life there's hope.
However, before we all go celebrating our good fortune we may still have significant fund-raising to provide the appropriate level of equipment and computers for the new school.
The Newsletter will keep you informed of all devel

opments.
We are optimistic that the long campaign to have a premises which matches the exceptionally high teaching standards at St. Cronan's will finally come to fruition this year.

Every child's nightmare -
building a new school !

Days Off !

The School will be closed on the following dates in February:

The Parents Activities Committee exist as a means for parents to become involved socially and financially in the school.
We are all parents of boys in the School and we all have the same objectives - to provide the opportunity

to the teachers to provide the best possible education for the pupils.
We are always keen for people to join the committee and we would be delighted to hear your views and opinions on
what we  do or what we should do.
