Champs yet again

6/12/’00 Clooney pitch Div.1 football final

Crusheen 1-5 Knockanean 0-1

Our outstanding run of good fortune continued last week when the girls regained the Div.1 title last held in 1996.

This was an excellent game in which Knockanean fought us all the way to the end . We pressed hard early on but found scores difficult. Our defence was outstanding throughout with Carina, in particular, having the game of her life. Amanda, despite having a heavy cold, managed 1-2 in the first half and 0-2 in the second. Ann-Marie scored the other point. Well done to all the girls and to their teachers, and many thanks to the parents who came to the matches. The boys and girls had a party to celebrate the following day in school. Congrats also to Blaine Earley who was presented with a county Sportstar award for his performances in the boys‘ league.
