"MOLAHIFFE, a parish in the barony of Magunihy, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles N.E. of Milltown, its post town. It is 3½ miles long by 2½ in breadth. The surface extends along the left side of the river Main, and is intersected by the road from Tralee to Killarney. It is somewhat hilly, with bog, and a soil of average quality. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, value with two others, £285. The church was built in 1818, by a gift from the late Board of First Fruits. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Kilbonane and Kilcredane. There are two or three day schools. Molahiffe Castle is the chief residence. A fair is held on the 26th May."
