 Dobbyn & Coffeys, a family run buisiness, located at the heart of medieval Athenry is a landmark for hospitality, good food and entertainment. A feature of this fully air-conditioned building is the old stone wall which provides intimate character to the Restaurant and is a link with the towns long and varied history.
As well as a full restaurant, the building also contains a bar, fuction rooms and the famous "Underground" nightclub.
With its medieval streetscape intact and two thirds of its walls still standing, Athenry is the country's best example of a medieval walled town in Ireland and is a member of the Heritage Towns of Ireland.
On the edge of town stands Athenry Castle, built in 1238 by Myler De Bermingham which has recently been restored to its former glory.
Athenry's tranquil and beutiful countryside is celebrated the world over in the song "The Fields of Athenry".
