The seed of Douglas Weekly was first planted three years ago when we saw and read that Douglas was one of the fastest growing urban areas in Ireland. Douglas is expanding at a terrific rate in the areas of housing, population, business, infrastructure and amenities.
We felt that a place this big, with its own identity and character, deserved its own voice: a publication that, while not neglecting the larger issues and stories, was dedicated to informing you about Douglas. The hardcopy paper is now just over one year old, and we are now launching the Internet edition.
The regular features on the 'Net edition will include sports columns, video reviews and editorial pieces, photographs and readers' feedback.
With your support and our ideas, this seed can continue to grow as the voice of Douglas.
