This time around I'm writing from the southern hemisphere, reading my Douglas Weekly in the sun and thoroughly enjoying the read. I am blown away by this Hudson Car Article, how unique. Absolutely amazing that a car such as this is taking up residence in Douglas, and a nice history lesson to go with it. Keep up the good work.....long live the 'Douglas Weekly'

'The Irish Rover' ?
Hello from England.
Can any Douglas Weekly reader help an ex-Cobh man in his quest? I am trying to trace any history of the song 'The Irish Rover'.
When was it written? Who wrote it? Is there an 'official' version? I have seen that many verses, and versions of them, it's hard to decide if there is a definitive version at all !!
Coming from Cork I suppose I should know, but I've never had to research it before! Thanks to anyone who may be of assistance.
