LETTERS
TO THE EDITOR
West Cork Plane Crash
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you with regard to a letter, which appeared in
your "Letters to the Editor" some time ago. The letter
was in relation to a piece written by Ger O'Regan referring to a
plane crash which happened in West Cork during the war. My
grandmother is a sister-in-law to the late Bill Johnson who was
the first person to raise the alarm on the night in question. She
herself was born and raised in the area and was a young girl when
the tragedy happened. She believes, to the best of her knowledge,
that there are several references made in this letter which may
be incorrect. The first of these is the name of the hill in the
letter this is referred to as Cashelane Hill but has always been
known to her as Keane Hill. There are other points she felt were
a little mixed up also and I'm sure that if Ger was interested
she would be able to put him on the right track with regard to
this very interesting story. Any correspondence can be made
through me at the above address.
Yours truly,
Caroline O'Callaghan, Grange, Douglas
