The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is an effective search and rescue system on a global basis using advanced technology of satellite and terrestrial communications.
To meet the GMDSS carriage requirements for vessels,a full range of radio communications equipment including MF,HF,VHF and satellite communications equipment can be supplied by JRC

 

GMDSS Communication Console, NCU-247A(Option)
The NCU-247A is a JRC GMDSS communication console designed for ease of operation, installation and maintenance.
The operating panel for MF/HF communications and the Inmarsat-C terminal are mounted in the compact console.

Survival craft is required to carry the SART that automatically transmit a response signal when "interrogated" by a nearby 9GHz radar

Satellite EPIRB, JQE-3A
Satellite Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) designed to operate on 406MHz and 121.5MHz
Float-free if the ship sinks, and automatically activated when afloat
Positioning accuracy of approx. 2 to 5 km via COSPAS/SARSAT Local User's Terminal (LUT)
