Pathfinder SL72 Radar

The SL72 is a high performance new radar that includes the clear, high contrast SL70 7" LCD display and a streamlined 18" diameter, 2kW radome antenna.

Why Raytheon's 7" LCD Pathfinder Sets New Standards Auto GST
Raytheon delivers the first truly automatic radar. Raytheon engineers have designed the Auto GST feature, which will make using a radar simple. Using advanced signal processing technology, the radar senses and adapts to its surroundings, automatically adjusting gain, sea-clutter and tune for optimal picture quality.

Narrower beamwidth focused on small target resolution
The SL72 radar's horizontal beamwidth is only 5.2 degrees, 13% more concentrated than most other small LCD radars. This gives better resolution and improved weak target detection compared to radars with wider beams. High output power offers improved detection performance. The SL72's scanner output is a powerful 2kW, providing the SL72 Pathfinder with increased range and superior target discrimination.

Raytheon RL72/74 Chartplotter & Radar

Until recently, navigation data on board was limited to the amount of space available for electronics. The rigid thinking that shaped on board instrumentation had designated units as single function items. A radar would never be more than a radar and a chartplotter although capable of showing positioning information was inherently a chartplotter, that is until now. Raytheon engineers have challenged this and, through the development of the RL70 RC Radar/Raychart display and the HSB (High Speed Bus) technology, they have come up with a totally new way of looking at radar.

By adding Raychart to the RL70 display a complete stand-alone radar nav station is created. Perfect for a centre console or open cockpit (example 1). With HSB dual station operation between two radars, two chartplotters or between a radar or a chartplotter is easily achieved. But the ultimate power of this new technology is its unique capability to combine radar and chart displays in one screen at both stations. Suddenly, real time navigation and synchronisation or orientation between chart and radar screen are now all instantly available on one or both displays
