The most popular television comedy programme of all time as voted recently by UK viewers was 'Only Fools and Horses'. Del Boy, Uncle Albert and Grand-dad have all become household names since their first airing back in the early 1980's but what is probably a lesser know fact is the first Trotter family line up. As this still from an early auditions tape illustrates Dustin was the shock choice by John Sullivan to play Del Boy's younger brother Rodney. Unfortunately those as the Beeb decided that the politely spoken turkey had not come to terms with the working class accent needed for the role and was dropped soon after the first pilot episode to be replaced by Nicholas Lindhurst.
