DUSTIN IS FROM LEITRIM

Those of you keen on your GAA history will be able to recall that glorious day in September 1925 when Leitrim took its place among the other 32 Counties in Ireland and brought the Old Sam Maguire across the Shannon for the fifth year in a row.

And leading them to this historic achievement was non other than the right half 'wing 'forward and captain fantastic Dusty Hoffman Snr. Unfortunately the film evidence was destroyed, allegedly by a jealous Cavan man, as one former Leitrim player put it; 'longing for the days when football would be played in the Polo Grounds again and when Cavan would win again!'
