Edible News

·        05/11/01 : The current schedule is for intense rehearsals until the new year, then head into the studio in January to finally record “It Was Time To Eat”, only six months behind schedule. The track-list currently is: Thank You, Peter; Chocolate Is My Friend; Make Way For The Milkman; Das Edimobile; Dance Music Makes Me Want To Kill People With A Hammer; Angry Dog; Swiss Roll; Seconds; I Drink Therefore I Am; Green Pen; Moose; Robotix (Whatever Happened To); Hole Of; Soup On My Floor.

·        20/10/01 : The drummer problem is finally resolved. Edible are now a two piece, with Justin handling the drums for the recording of the album. This, obviously, puts a dampener on any plans to play live in the immediate future, however they feel this is the only way to move forward. The nonsense of the summer had to stop. A new drummer will be recruited after recording.

·        13/08/01 : The band take a well earned break for a month and will re-group in September.

·        23/07/01 : Another new song, “Robotix (Whatever Happened To)” is completed. It signals a slight departure to the trademark Edible sound and is the first ballad Edible have played. Lyrically, it laments the rise and fall of Robotix and Break-Dancing as a medium of popular dance.

·        26/05/01 : New song, “Dance Music Makes Me Want To Kill People With A Hammer” is premiered.

·        19/05/01 : Edible rehearse for the first time with new drummer Brendan Power. Bongo Bren excels himself in his new role and is confirmed as a full-time member of Edible.

·        10/05/01 : The decision is taken to replace Diamond Dave Shorten for the second time, nine years after he was first kicked out.

·        14/05/01 : The third rehearsal of the current reformation takes place. It is not as good as might be expected. Justin introduces new songs “Swiss Roll”, “Moose” and “The Edimobile” for the band to practice but it doesn’t click.

·        07/05/01 : Second practice takes place. It is encouraging. Highlights of the session include “Chocolate Is My Friend”, “I Drink Therefore I Am” and a fantastic jam through “War Pigs”. The possibility of a live performance is discussed.

·        14/04/01 : Edible reform after a break of over seven years. A rough practice takes place but it is enough to convince the band this is the right thing to do.

·        01/04/01 : Dave Shorten announces his interest in participating in the new Edible project. Conveniently, Ken and Justin are currently looking for a drummer.

·        15/03/01 : Justin and Ken decide to re-record the Edible back catalogue and give the songs the production and performance they deserve.
