Contact has been made with the owner of C/Ellen House who is very enthusiastic
about the project and supportive of our work. Some local people have
agreed to be interviewed. We have looked in the school archives, had a
very productive research day in County Library Headquarters and we have
studied some local histery books. Teacher
says 'there may be more to this...!
 Sixth Class spent the day here on the 3.12. 98. and got lots of valuable information for our project. We saw lots of pictures of the big houses in the area but none of Castle Lambert. These we will order from Dublin shortly. We found the family lines of the Lopdels, Persses, Chichester Clarkes, ffrenches and the Lamberts of Aggard and Kilquain. Our teacher got some maps of Castle Lambert which showed the estate in 1855. He also got extracts from old books to help him in writing his part of the new book on the Lamberts of Athenry.
