I have been advised to use rose water as a toner for my skin (for which I see you have also suggested previously). However I can't seem to be able to buy any. Boots do stock rosewater but it contains added ingredients such as alcohol. Can you please advise me on where I can buy some pure rosewater in the UK.

Gemma Says : You should be able to purchase plain rosewater (without any added ingredients) at any pharmacy or body shop near you. Apply on slightly dampened cotton wool after cleansing and before moisturising morning and night.

I have an embarrassing problem. I have a high colour which comes through my makeup. If I don't wear makeup I have a very red face. When I do, the redness comes through. How can I hide this embarrassing image?

Gemma Says : The good news is theres a simple solution to your problem. You can get a rosy tone concealer which is available in a stick form or as a cream. Either are applied after cleansing, moisturising, and toning. The concealer is applied to the area by dabbing on gently without causing unnecessary redness to appear. Leave it for one minute before applying makeup, making sure that your foundation blends in the concealer.

I don't want to use a toner with alcohol in it. What can I use?

Gemma Says : Just use plain rosewater. This has no alcohol in it and is suitable for sensitive skin. Always remember to tone each time after cleansing to remove final traces of makeup and to close pores.

I have a serious problem with dandruff. It falls out of my hair and all over my clothes. What can I do about it?

Gemma Says : There are a number of products available but when choosing one make sure it is suitable for your hair type. For example is you have greasy hair got for a mild shampoo with an ingredient to help fight dandruff. Some products have tea tree oil which has an antiseptic property. This is excellent. Dandruff can come from the overuse of stying agents or it can be as a result of a scalp problem. If it is a scalp problem consult a doctor or a dermatologist.
