This practice has two partners who both graduated from University College, Galway in 1986. Both are vocationally trained general practitioners and are members of the Irish College of General Practitioners.
The surgery in Killenaule was purpose built in 1998. The building was designed to be wheelchair accessible and child friendly.
We at Killenaule surgery are committed to providing high quality general practitioner care and welcome all constructive suggestions which would help us achieve our aim.

Out of Hours Arrangements
This practice does a rota with Dr. Carmel Condon, Fethard and Dr. John Curtin, Ballingarry. This means that there is always a doctor available in the evenings, at weekends and during bank holidays. The duty doctor can be contacted by telephoning the surgery at 052 - 56134.

In addition to the usual general practitioner services we also provide the following special services
Well Woman Clinic
Dr. Gannon, Monday 3.30pm - 5.30pm
This health check which is by appointment only, includes, lifestyle questionnaire, pre-pregnancy counselling, family planning, menopausal advice, breast check, and cervical smear test as appropriate, ECG, blood tests including cholesterol if necessary. It is advisable that women between the ages of 20 and 65 years have a three yearly cervical smear tests.
Well Person Clinic
This service is available to both men and women By appointment only and includes, lifestyle questionnaire, blood pressure check, examination, urine test, ECG, blood tests and cholesterol test as appropriate. Vaccination status is reviewed and anti-tetanus vaccine administered if necessary.
Antenatal and Post-natal Care
Both Dr. Gannon and Dr. Meagher are registered providers of services under the Mother and Child scheme. This entitles mothers to be, to six free antenatal visits and two post-natal visits for mother and baby up to about six weeks post-delivery.
Vaccinations
Both doctors are registered providers of children's immunisations. Under the new scheme all children are entitled to free vaccinations from their family doctor up to but not including the pre-school booster. Anti-tetanus vaccine is available for adults and children at any time. Influenza vaccine is usually available from September of each year.

Travel advice is available and appropriate vaccinations administered prior to travelling abroad Please email or call for an appointment.

Minor Surgery
A variety of surgical procedures are carried out at the surgery. These include excision/biopsy of skin lesions, wound suturing, joint injection and other minor operations.

Allergy Testing
Repeat Prescriptions: may be obtained, by prior arrangement with the doctor. Please give 24 hours notice for such requests.
Telephone advice
If you need telephone advice from your doctor it is preferable to ring between 12.00 and 12.30 daily. In this way you will not be interrupting a consultation and will have the doctors full attention.
