It was a scene from hell. It left three
US special forces soldiers dead
--according to BBC world affairs editor, John Simpson. He had been traveling
in Northern Iraq with a convoy of US special forces and Kurdish fighters
when it was bombed in error by an American warplane.
As usual, US Central Command and the American media have lied to cover
up the ghastly tragedy. And the hellish horrors yet to come.
 Such
lies are now the stock in trade of the gung-ho "liberators"
and their compliant tools in the US media. Centcom said it was investigating
the incident. They could simply have watched the BBC's correspondent's
report --live from the scene only minutes after the carnage took place,
as blood of the cameraman trailed slowly down the view through his lens..
But that might have meant acknowledging the truth.
 Anyway
the BBC soon excised Simpson's US death toll from later transmissions
of the video clip. No doubt in deference to US "sensitivities"
on the matter of killing their own so tragically. God forbid that the
deeply manipulated US public should learn that war is a bloody mess.
American TV and newspaper coverage only referred to the death of Kurds
in the incident. In truth, it is not only the Iraqis military and civilians
who fear US forces. The British troops are in dread of them, and said
so before the war began; the Kurds now share that trepidation; and the
media never know the moment when they may be mown down by accident --or
even worse by design.
 For
there is growing suspicion about the scale of deaths among reporters covering
the war --already far higher per capita than in other conflicts. Most
of the slain media have been independents whose free expression might
be target for the ire of warmongers in the US command. A Pentagon official
threatened such a policy
in remarks to BBC correspondent, Kate Adie back in March. Of late, even
"embedded" reporters are falling by the wayside. The fire may be anything
but friendly.
The Disneyland patina around this war is that Iraqis are only too pleased
to be slain in vast numbers by "noble" US liberators. Preferably
by photogenic soldiers, if you don't mind. But the reality is more akin
to the bestiality of humans at their worst. The evidence is the mangled
bodies of Iraqi civilians.
In one revealing clip that slipped by the spin doctors, a US tank commander
stood atop his killing machine and gave a revealing rallying cry: "Death
and destruction!", he yelled. That's more like the truth. A lot more
like it. Expect much more blood to roll down your TV screen before this
is over.
One day, America will wake up from this dream and realize that there is
no nobility in slaughter. One day, a realization will dawn that in a cruel
world, defense forces are meant for defense only, and only with reluctance
--not for naked aggression. On that day, the American dream will die.
Meanwhile, for the rest of the world, the nightmare continues and will
intensify.
Thus far, the Iraqis are the target. A complacent US public is not only
blind to the horrors of that war, but is ignorant of it's full intent.
The US leadership has not engaged in a greater mobilization of reserves
than in the last world war, simply to deploy a fraction of the forces
at its command in the current campaign. Donald Rumsfeld is a fiend -not
a fool.
The war in Afghanistan was an opening salvo against a puny enemy, offering
certain victory. The war in Iraq is a wag-the-dog fiasco lacking real
engagement --by behind the scenes design.
Both merely set the scene for engagement with real enemies in a real war.
Both are designed to normalize the war ethic and secure a base in US public
opinion. That base will be reinforced by further staged terror events
like 9/11. Opposition within the USA will be ruthlessly crushed by new
legislative powers --under cover of SARS-style panic and psywar manipulations
aimed at cowing the public.
For, all this is but preparation for the real war. You, dear reader are
a human being with normal human attributes. Perhaps you cannot conceive
that so evil a design could lurk among us. But the Centcom lies run deep.
Deeper than you can imagine.
