Joan Irvine of Adult Sites Against Child Pornography( ASACP
), is leading a campaign within that $3 billion Internet porn industry,
to address the issue of child pornography:
"When I see, as I do all too often, a 3-year-old or a 4-year-old
being penetrated in a film, it just fills my eyes with tears. That is
what we must stop."
The ASACP doesn't just reject child-porn content but also the suggestion
of it. The group refuses its seal to any site that uses certain "unacceptable
words." The list, includes such words as "lolitas," "kinderporno"
and "pedolandia."
Yet research by GuluFuture.com shows that the online payments system PayPal
is being used to enable services which contravene the ASACP guidelines,
and offer services which may incite pedophile acts.
Phone sex services using PayPal are offering "kinky incest role-plays,
daddy / daughter," "Incest Fantasies," "sweet little
girls will call you back," and other child sex invitations.
"We're seeing a tremendous increase in people looking at child porn
online, then trying to solicit kids for sex," says Al Cooper, a California
psychologist who recently authored a book examining the effect of Internet
solicitations on sexuality.
"In pedophilia stings we find a lot of people who would never get
involved in child pornography if it wasn't for the Internet. They wouldn't
have known how to get the material or even dared to ask. The power of
the Internet is that people who wouldn't have gotten involved in these
kinds of things now are."
PORN GETS RAUNCHIER
At the Internext online porn conference, the ASACP's Irvine said that
the porn business, can "do more than anyone else" to stamp out
the problem. Given such a responsible stance from porn providers, PayPal's
casual enabling of borderline pedophile sites stands in stark contrast.
Especially as porn offers are getting raunchier due to diminished interest
in existing solicitations.
Naked in pigtails pretending to be daughters having sex with fathers
are some of the explicit images that have started slipping into inboxes
lately as spamsters try to drive traffic to a growing number of sites
featuring incest, rape and even bestiality.
Typing "incest rape" into the Google search engine, for example,
leads to brutalextreme.com, which offers bizarre content including "soldier
rapes journalist at her office," and touts "the best extreme
non consensual non censored and forced sex available in the net today."
Even the e-mail subject lines -- known in the marketing world as "teasers"
-- have gotten raunchier: "Famous victims of parental incest!"
and "Welcome to the brutal rape archive!" are two currently
hitting the inboxes.
