There are a wide selection of restaurants in Stillorgan -- Blakes,
China-Sichuan, Pings (Chinese), Pappagallos (Pizzeria), Casanova (Italian). Most of
the pubs in the area do good pub-grub. There are also many take-aways, like McDonalds and
Jumbos (Chinese).

There is no shortage of pubs in the area from The Stillorgan Orchard, Cassidys, The
Galloping Green and The Mill House. If you are young and free you might like to go to
Blackrock Village where there is a wide selection of pubs. Pub opening hours : Mon. -
Sat.: 10.30am - 11.30pm; Sundays 12noon - 11pm.

There is a 5-screen cinema in Stillorgan.

There are many tourist activities organised by Dublin Tourism and other agencies - please
see information at reception or ask us. Please note than Scenic Wicklow which is known as
the "Garden of Ireland" is close to us here there are many organised
tours to bring you there. Askill B&B is ideally located as a base for visiting
Wicklow.

The nearest Tourist Office is in Dun Laoghaire. There is also a Tourist Information Office
in OConnell St. and Suffolk St., City Centre.

There are several banks in Stillorgan Village (5 minutes walk). Their opening hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 10.00am - 4.00pm. Thursday - 10.00am -- 5.00pm.

The nearest Post Office is at Stillorgan Shopping Centre. The opening hours are : Monday -
Friday: 9.00am - 1.00pm, 2.15pm - 5.30pm; Saturday 9.00am - 1.00pm.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is a regular Bus Service from Stillorgan to City Centre from
7am to 11.00pm (approx.). The nearest Bus stop is beside Blakes Restaurant when you
cross the dual carriageway as you head towards Stillorgan. When coming home get off at the
first stop after the Shopping Centre. This will save you having to walk across the dual
carriageway. If you would like to take the train (DART) the nearest station is in
Blackrock (10-15 minutes walk from here). The DART goes North to Howth and South to Bray
and goes approx. every 20 minutes from 7am to 11.30pm. It goes approx. every 5 minutes
during peak times.
Buses and the DART travel less frequently on Sundays and Bank Holidays -- please refer
to timetable for more accurate details.

There is bicycle shop in Stillorgan, which hires bikes - please ask at reception for
details.

The nearest shopping centre is at Stillorgan where there is a selection of shops. The
opening hours are 9.00 am - 6.00pm. Late opening Thursday and Friday to 9.00pm.
There is a Supermarket on the Kilmacud Road, which is open 7am to 11pm every day. It is
about 3 minutes walk past Stillorgan Shopping Centre on the left hand side.
There is a good selection of shops (two shopping centres) in Blackrock Village which is
about 10 minutes walk from here.

There is a market in Blackrock which is open Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from
12noon - 6pm.

The nearest chemist is located in Stillorgan Shopping Centre but there is also a chemist
beside Centra Supermarket which has late opening hours :
Ryalls - Mon. to Sat 9am - 9pm; Sunday 11am - 7pm.

There is a laundry at Stillorgan Shopping Centre, opening hours: 8.00am - 6.00pm.

The nearest Catholic Church is in Stillorgan on the Kilmacud Road and beside the Millhouse
Pub. Mass times: Saturday evenings 6pm.
Sunday - 8am, 9am (Irish), 10am (childrens), 11am, 12noon and 6pm.
There are a number of other Catholic Churches in the area and if you want to know mass
times please ask at reception.
