ADAPT PROJECT (1998/1999)
Building the Information Society
Using Information and Communications Technology to enhance the Performance and Development of Self-Directed Work Teams
After a Review Meeting of the Project it was agreed to alter the course of the project, to start in the development of the Training Modules and postpone the development of the design of the ICT solution until Quarter 2 1999. Here below are a sample of the training modules.

Business Information Module
Entitled "Finance for the Non-Financial Manager"

Duration of the course is a day and a half to be held on the 21st and 22nd of December.
Topics covered are understanding Financial Statements such as the Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet, Budgeting, Corporate Finance, Role of Finance in a Business. Included also is a Casestudy similar to SIFA Formats.
Evaluation will be a half day review to be held in January.
Internet Training
Entitled "The Basics on Internet"
Duration of the course is 2 hours.
Topics covered is the basics of Internet with on hand exercises.
SIFA Technology Training
Entitled "Technology in SIFA"
Duration of the Course is a half day.
Topics covered is Beyond Mail, Network and Network Drives, Multimedia Training

Entitled "Dealing Effectively with Information"

This training module is still in development and will be run in the New Year.
The objectives of the Modules are
Steering Team
The role of the Steering Team is Internal Evaluation.
An Internal Evaluation Form will be completed monthly and reviewed by the Steering Team.
Steering Team meetings will be set for certain Milestones during the project and for time in strategic review which will be 6-monthly.

The role of the Target Team is as follows:

As explained above our Internal Evaluators are our Steering Team.
Our External Evaluators are Department of Computer Science in Trinity College. They are evaluating the project with focus on "Team Learning and Information Technology" covering some issues such as the value of the research carried out as part of the project and the identification of the key implications of the project activity for the continuing development of the learning organisation.
Training Evaluation
Pilot and Evaluation Methodology
Each training modules will be designed with Company Content and customised to meet specific SIFA requirements. Evaluation of the training will take place after the programme is finished based on what they have learned and how it was applied. Internal Trainers will be trained to deliver these modules.

Deliver training on the Information Management Module and Evaluation.
A Information Technology & Telecommunication Student from UL will be joining SIFA on the Co-operative Education Programme for eight months.
Testing on Modules 3 & 4 of the ECDL.
Transnational Partnership Meeting.
March
Deliver training on SIFA Technology System.
Testing on Module 5 & 6 of the ECDL.
Begin Design on the ICT Solution of the Project - Intranet, Interfaces, Databases etc.
