Diary & Noticeboard
PLEASE PRAY FOR
Your prayers are requested for John Keogh, brother of Tess Lang, Union, who has died in France. May he rest in peace.
CHURCH RAILINGS
The railings in front of Collooney church have been painted. They were last painted in 2004. The inevitable rusting looks unsightly and demands regular repainting.

LOSS OF BELIEF
"When the world loses touch with religious beliefs the prospects are bleak - relationships break down, marriages are weak, families become fragile, communications atrophy, and the result is that people are vulnerable and alone." (Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi in Britain)

Ragworth - a familiar sight at the moment.
St. Augustine (354 – 430)
Feastday on Thursday next.

Philosopher and theologian, a Father and Doctor of the Church, Augustine is one of the most important figures in the development of Western Christianity. He was brought up a Christian but the Faith meant little to him and he lived a worldly and pleasure seeking life until his conversion to wholehearted Christianity in 386 AD. On the opposite page we give his own description of that famous 'conversion'.
