The Holy Spirit promises that the
mature Church will reach the unity of the faith.
This is not the unity of the Spirit, which began at the cross and so already
exists. But unity in the essential doctrines of the faith and maturity of understanding.
This does not mean that all Christians will believe exactly the same things
about everything, but rather that there will be strong unity in all the essentials
of the faith throughout the true church- the genuine body of Christ.
It will be a unity within diversity -each expression of the church will still
own and benefit from its distinctive emphases.
And it will be a unity, which brings a maturity of Christ in character - for
the things, which presently divide us are essentially our immature character
and our immature understanding.
It is known that differences exist
even between Christian couples, in the way or the time that the two people pray
or worship. Each one has and enjoys a way of prayer and worship that it is different
than the other's. That does not mean that they stop being one unit and that
they should separate and go each his/her way.
Each of us has revelations about
different things than others don't have and know things that others don't know.
The way to go about it, is not to quench the Spirit and to disappoint our brothers
and sisters in Christ by disbelieving, disregarding and even worse mocking the
revelation and the knowledge that the Holy Spirit gave them.
The last thing we need to hear is a Christian criticising and putting down other
Christians on the account that he/she did not have an experience that others
have had.
And even if we have more knowledge than them so what? The knowledge we have
like everything else we received it from God. And if we received it why do we
boast and we behave like we did not receive it?
No, the right way to go about it is to, "be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave us."For after all we know in part and we prophesy in part. So let us tolerate each other and love each other for love never fails.
God bless you.
