To provide some insight into other branches of the O'Fogarty clan we have examined all the Castlefogarty papers and those of the Ryans of Inch and where the name occurs we have listed the documents hereunder:

 

6 JUN 1804 Phil Fogarty of Inch To Thomas Lenigan Castlefogarty.

LEASE OF THE TYTHES of Castlefogarty containing190 acres for £1,000 and a peppercorn rent for 5,000 years.

31 MAR 1808 Thomas Lenigan To Phil Fogarty of Inch.

LEASE OF 95 ACRES formerly held by Joseph Magrath at Garrymanus for £2-5-6 per acre

There was a penal clause increasing the rent to £4 per acre if drains to river not kept clear. This could cause flooding on the adjoining Castlefogarty lands. Lease was for three lives, renewable forever.

Lenigan kept right of way to road from Farney bridge to Mealiffe (Michael Condon showed Phil the right of way.)

5 FEB 1790 Thomas Lanigan To Daniel Fogerty of Dovea.

INDENTURE (Lease) for 156 Acre of Rossmult (Kilnemanagh) for £10 yearly for three lives (sons Phil, Dan & Roger) and 99 years. Michl Condon and Phil Fogerty witnesses.

20 APR 1821 Phil Fogerty of Borrisoleigh To James Lenigan Castlefogarty.

LEASE of Tythes of part of the land of Castlefogarty, 60 acres "lately held by Carrs and Chapel tenants" for 999 yrs at £6 per annum.

9 JUN 1821 Phil Fogarty To Earl of Llandaff.

ASSIGNMENT - MORTGAGE of the Tythes of Parish of Ballycahill. This was to pay off a judgement of £435 @ £100 per year. This document refers to Robert Stakelum of Ballycahill as Phil Fogarty's Tythe Proctor.

19 APR 1821 Phil Fogarty of Borrisoleigh To James Lenigan.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT for 82 acres at 19 shillings sterling per acre for 999 years (May only concern about three acres).

13 SEP l842 Phil Fogarty of Borrisoleigh; John Evans, Middlesex; John Molloy Castlefogarty
