Basketball is a great sport to play if you are going to join Kilkenny School Project because we have great facilities for it. We start basketball in 3rd class until the end of 6th class.

Our basketball coach is called Joe Byrne.We start with rules and dribbling skills.

If it is wet we don't play outside. We would have to play inside the hall which is the same but smaller.We have basketball on Thursdays. Half the class do basketball for three weeks and when that's up the other half do basketball for the next three weeks as well.

HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS.

If you're running with the ball and you hold the ball without bouncing it you're travelling and you will give away a free shot.

When you have your back to someone and they are trying to tackle, you throw the ball to one side of them and run to the other side.

Last year 6th class played St.Canices in a friendly match and we WON.We have two different basketball courts.One court has a big basketball net and the other has a small net.
