A few weeks ago,
we had "May-Day". That is a day when all our school
gets together for a day of celebration. Our class talked
about "Listening to the Voices of the Young".
In class, we learnt about pollution and about lots of different
animals and where they live. We talked about how to keep
our world clean. Everybody said something about our world.
Denis and friends
said that we should pick up litter.
Dan said that
we are polluting our planet.
We did a fun poem
called " The Caterpillar Poem" and we made up
all the actions ourselves. We also did actions to a piece
of classical music. We pretended we were all seeds and as
the music went on we grew into flowers and trees.
We made a big tree
and coloured lots of animals we wanted to look after and
stuck them onto the tree. It looked really well.

Our
Favourite parts of May-day:
Denis:
" The best part was when we went outside because I
got to do sign language in front of all the school and my
granny and mum. I learned to say "Our voices are important
too" in sign language."
" I liked
outside because we got to hear some kids speak in different
languages. I hadn't heard Chinese before."
Dan: " I liked
outside because my mum and my brother and sister came to
see me."
